Multiple sex partners, excessive smoking, sexual intercourse at an early age and a history of HIV infection are signs to be taken care of. A doctor can examine and trace any patches of genital warts by swabbing the skin with acetic acid. This results in formation of white patches on the defective skin. Genital Wart Treatment: Cyrotherapy is a good means of removing the warts by freezing them or by using a laser. However, you must realize that genital warts need to be distinguished from the warts that generally appear on the hands. Thus, using chemicals without any prescription can be dangerous for the genital skin. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you have any queries in this regard then contact your doctor and avoid the build-up of these unwanted warts. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Even after the initial treatment is over, you cannot be sure that warts will not bother you again. This is due to the fact that the treatment only removes the genital warts, but does not remove the virus once you are exposed to it. The virus remains in the skin even after the treatment. Your&lt;BR&gt;Momma would be pleased, and if you weren't paying attention, she&lt;BR&gt;was right, it's good for you. The most common way to catch a&lt;BR&gt;cold or the flu, is by touching something or someone and&lt;BR&gt;transferring their germs to your hands, and then onto your mouth&lt;BR&gt;or nose. The common Cold Virus is not airborne, just transferred&lt;BR&gt;from person to person, sometimes moving to a number of objects&lt;BR&gt;before finally getting to your face. &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;I won't tell you how to wash your hands because I assume Momma&lt;BR&gt;already taught you how to do that, but I will offer a couple of&lt;BR&gt;tips and tell you what to use after your hands are dry. Most&lt;BR&gt;soaps will kill bacteria on contact, but the longer to you wash,&lt;BR&gt;the deeper the soap will penetrate the outer surface of your&lt;BR&gt;skin and remove dirt and bacteria. Be sure to wipe really dry&lt;BR&gt;with a "clean" towel, and then apply a good hand lotion. Why?&lt;BR&gt;Hand lotion prevents dry, chapped skin where bacteria can gather&lt;BR&gt;and hide. There are some really great hand lotions, specifically&lt;BR&gt;for men, that dry quickly, grease free and have no added&lt;BR&gt;fragrance (just ask me, I know them all). &lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Wash after meeting and greeting or playing and petting&lt;BR&gt;(animals), and wash as often as you can, it's beneficial,&lt;BR&gt;therapeutic and just plain feels good, and your hands need to&lt;BR&gt;feel good; did you know they are the hardest working parts of&lt;BR&gt;your body? Unless you are a professional cyclist or marathoner,&lt;BR&gt;your hands do more repetitive work than any other part of your&lt;BR&gt;body. So what should you do for the hardest working parts of&lt;BR&gt;yourself? While you are washing your hands, take a few extra&lt;BR&gt;minutes to massage the palms of each of your hands and then pull&lt;BR&gt;down each finger a few times, pinching off at the tips. This can be caused by&lt;BR&gt;variations in body chemistry, but more often than not it's&lt;BR&gt;because everyone applies skin care products differently.&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Of course, if a particular product doesn't give you the results&lt;BR&gt;you expect, it doesn't always mean you are applying the product&lt;BR&gt;incorrectly. Unfortunately, many products just don't work as&lt;BR&gt;advertised, no matter what you do! To top that off, some&lt;BR&gt;products may work for some people but not for others even when&lt;BR&gt;used properly. Nevertheless, when a product doesn't work, it may&lt;BR&gt;often be due to incorrect application.&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Products like skin creams, gels, or lotions are a mixture of&lt;BR&gt;chemicals that have a biological action, applied topically to&lt;BR&gt;the skin. So the effectiveness depends on whether the active&lt;BR&gt;ingredients work, and whether they are absorbed properly into&lt;BR&gt;your skin. Your skin's temperature, hydration, environment and&lt;BR&gt;other factors will influence your skin's ability to absorb the&lt;BR&gt;active ingredients in a product. To be sure that you get optimal&lt;BR&gt;effectiveness of you skin care products:&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;* Cleanse skin before applying any products. The best time to&lt;BR&gt;apply is right after you come out of a warm shower or bath&lt;BR&gt;because not only is your skin clean, but it is also moist and&lt;BR&gt;warm, so it will absorb whatever you apply much better. Do not&lt;BR&gt;wash with hot water because excessive heat accelerates aging.&lt;BR&gt;Water should be comfortably warm but not hot. However, if you&lt;BR&gt;plan to apply anything oily that blocks the pores, splash cool&lt;BR&gt;water on yourself to close pores. Just pat dry with a towel.&lt;BR&gt;Also, use a charcoal shower filter to prevent exposure to the&lt;BR&gt;chlorine in the water. You probably drink bottled or filtered&lt;BR&gt;water - but you can absorb more chlorine through your skin&lt;BR&gt;during a shower than you would get from an 8 oz. glass of water!&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;* When cleansing your skin, don't use regular soap or shampoo,&lt;BR&gt;they're much too drying. Use a good moisturizing soap, a skin&lt;BR&gt;cleanser, or plain warm (not hot) water.&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;* The top layer of skin is mostly made from dry, dead cells.&lt;BR&gt;When this layer becomes too thick, either from aging or poor&lt;BR&gt;skin care skin, the active ingredients of a skin care product&lt;BR&gt;have trouble penetrating. Professional microdermabrasion safely&lt;BR&gt;removes that top layer of skin, revealing the healthier,&lt;BR&gt;younger-looking skin underneath and allowing skin care products&lt;BR&gt;to be better absorbed for greater effectiveness. In addition,&lt;BR&gt;microdermabrasion done regularly strengthens the skin by&lt;BR&gt;stimulating elastin and collagen production, which helps&lt;BR&gt;diminish wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars and many other&lt;BR&gt;blemishes.&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;* Use short, firm strokes to apply skin care products. Do not&lt;BR&gt;stretch the skin. Do not rub. After applying, gently massage the&lt;BR&gt;products into your skin by tapping the area with your fingers&lt;BR&gt;for 30 seconds or so.&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;* When using a professional microdermabrasion product at home,&lt;BR&gt;it is important to read the directions and follow them very&lt;BR&gt;carefully. Remember, professional microdermabrasion is usually&lt;BR&gt;applied with expensive machines and medically-trained&lt;BR&gt;professionals. You can save a lot by doing it yourself, but&lt;BR&gt;don't be over-eager to get that 10-years-younger look. Apply the&lt;BR&gt;sponges gently the first time - let your skin adjust to the&lt;BR&gt;application. Add a little more time and pressure each&lt;BR&gt;application, about 2 weeks apart, up to a maximum of 3-5 minutes&lt;BR&gt;(depending on the sensitivity of your skin).&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;* If you have sensitive skin or allergies, always test the&lt;BR&gt;products you want to use first on a small patch of skin on your&lt;BR&gt;underarm (the soft skin on the bottom of your forearm).&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;DO YOU HAVE SENSITIVE SKIN? Did you know sensitive skin is very&lt;BR&gt;common? More than 40% of people say they have it. Its causes&lt;BR&gt;include age, heredity, gender, and racial differences. These&lt;BR&gt;questions below can help you find out if your skin may be&lt;BR&gt;sensitive. Of course, a trip to your dermatologist is the best&lt;BR&gt;way to find out!&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;1. Does your skin get extra dry after you wash it with soap? 2.&lt;BR&gt;Does your skin get extra oily and break out after you use&lt;BR&gt;particular types of moisturizers?&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;If you answered "Yes" to one or both of these questions, you may&lt;BR&gt;have sensitive skin.&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;3. Does your skin get red, itch, burn, or feel "tight" after&lt;BR&gt;coming into direct or indirect contact with perfumes and/or&lt;BR&gt;particular shampoos, shaving creams, detergents, dish soaps,&lt;BR&gt;hair sprays, cleaning products, or deodorants?&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;Irritants to sensitive skin include many household and personal&lt;BR&gt;products. The fragrances and dyes in just about every household&lt;BR&gt;product, and many personal care products, can cause irritation&lt;BR&gt;either from direct contact or even from deposits left on your&lt;BR&gt;clothes, towels, or bedding. If you have any of the classic&lt;BR&gt;signs and symptoms of sensitive skin in Question 3, try to use&lt;BR&gt;hypoallergenic products without ingredients known to cause skin&lt;BR&gt;reactions.&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;4. They are affected in a way that is&lt;br /&gt;disastrous to your waist line. The reason&lt;br /&gt;is that when you stay up longer you tend to grab the&lt;br /&gt;nearest bag of pretzels, chips, and cookies to satisfy&lt;br /&gt;your undending hungry. More calories in means more pounds&lt;br /&gt;on your waistline. So you are better off sleeping.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Plus, it is also true that we burn 60-65% of all calories&lt;br /&gt;while our bodies are at rest. That means that only 35% or&lt;br /&gt;so of all the calories we burn are the result of physical&lt;br /&gt;activity. While there are certainly exceptions to this,&lt;br /&gt;the fact remains that being awake does not translate into&lt;br /&gt;rapid calorie burning.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There is a disastrous majority of overweight Americans&lt;br /&gt;today. Frederic Templeman, M.D.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As the months &lt;strong&gt;fly&lt;/strong&gt; by in this new health adventure, research on the mangosteen’s xanthones continues to accumulate. Independent university laboratories in schools of medicine and pharmacies around the world are probing the secrets of this magnificent fruit. And as a result, amazing new discoveries are being brought to light. Recently, &lt;strong&gt;Dr. Sunit, of the University of Bangkok&lt;/strong&gt;, published an article on one xanthone’s ability to kill a tuberculosis bacteria that still ravages populations in the Third World. This was the second research paper to document the anti-tuberculosis effect of the xanthones. When I visited with Dr. Sunit earlier this year, she discussed with me and &lt;strong&gt;David A. Morton, Ph.D.&lt;/strong&gt; four more research projects that she had underway at that time. Journal articles will undoubtedly be published on these projects in the near future. Interestingly, she could not discuss a fifth project with me as it was confidential and being funded by pharmaceutical interests. I did learn, however, that the research had to do with the cholesterol-lowering effect of certain xanthones.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Earlier this year, the Gifu International Institute of Biotechnology (from the laboratory of Dr. Matsumoto) at Gifu University in Japan published a study in the Journal of Natural Products. Dr. Matsumoto was able to demonstrate that six (not one, but six) xanthones had the amazing ability to kill leukemia cells in laboratory experiments. Of the six xanthones, alpha, beta, and gamma mangostin (the most studied of all xanthones) demonstrated the most potent ability to destroy leukemia cells. I intend to visit Dr. Matsumoto in the near future to discuss his future projects. In September, I was in Japan to visit with Dr. Ohizumi, Dr. Nakatani, and Dr. Nakahata of Tohoku University in Sendai. These three professors have produced several papers on the xanthone’s power to prevent inflammation in brain cell preparations. They have also researched the ability of xanthones to act as antihistamines. Unfortunately, when I arrived, I was only able to visit with Dr. Nakahata, the head of the “Second Messenger” division of the pharmacy school’s laboratories.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The reason that Dr. Nakatani and Dr. Ohizumi were unavailable was most intriguing! They had both been put under contract by large pharmaceutical and vitamin-producing firms, the former with Riken Corporation and the later with Pfizer Pharmaceutical! They, of course, will be under the “gag effect” of non-disclosure agreements as they presumably work on projects intended to produce commercial products from the mangosteen. Mangosteen researchers involved in confidential medical product research! Mangosteen researchers being hired away from their academic posts by the world’s largest pharmaceutical company and by Japan’s largest producer of vitamin products! What does it mean? Almost every week, Dr. Morton and I discuss requests from university research scientists and medical practitioners for assistance in setting up new research projects to confirm the clinical results experienced by mangosteen users. The enthusiasm that exists among these medical experts means just one thing to me - the research into the mangosteen’s potential is going to explode in the near future!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;color:#ff0000;"&gt;Consider these facts:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000099;"&gt;Only seven of the 39 known xanthones have even been studied in laboratories. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000099;"&gt;Over 50 university papers exist to document the xanthones’ medicinal qualities! &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000099;"&gt;Mangosteen researchers are involved in the development of pharmaceutical products from this magnificent plant. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000099;"&gt;Corporations, among the largest in the pharmaceutical and food supplement fields, are scrambling to secure a position in what I would call “mangosteen futures”.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;div class="blogger-post-footer"&gt;&lt;script type="text/javascript"&gt;&lt;!--

The body's immune and other systems produce homemade antioxidants, and some vitamins such as E and C are also powerful antioxidants. But there exist other potent antioxidants, and these powerful protective substances are only found in certain plants such as the mangosteen. After studying the antioxidant properties of the mangosteen's xanthones, researchers discovered that they exhibited "potent free radical scavenging activity". A study conducted in Singapore compared the antioxidant properties of three major fruits from Southeast Asia ... rambutan, durian and mangosteen. The paper concludes that, "mangosteen extract displayed the greatest antioxidant activity." The study further states that, "garcinia mangostana activity is nearly seven times that of durios zibethinus, (durian)" with regards to antioxidant capacity. It is said that good research answers one question and asks several more. I have Fibromyalgia, Thyroid Disease, Degenerative Disc Disease (which has led me to two back surgeries), Myoclonous, Essential Tremmors, Carpel Tunnel, Tendonitis and the list goes on. I have a small pharmacy in my cupboard. I really did not believe the "hype" that I was hearing about this product but decided to give just one bottle a try. My Fibromyalgia Doc is all for taking it even though they have not done any specific studies with this and Fibro but the studies that have been done have shown that it is an anti-inflamitory. I was able to stop taking my muscle control pills, my pain pills and my sleep was much more restful, my tremors are all but gone, I did not hurt anymore and it was a quick process. Rosa Parks in a bottle? &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000099;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yes, yes and yes, says company president Aaron Garrity, at least if the common denominator is catalyst for change. Garrity used the image of the late Civil Rights icon Parks, sitting on a bus in Montgomery, Ala., on Friday to inspire his troops - 6,000 distributors gathered at the Salt Palace Convention Center for the third annual XanGo convention, the theme of which is Unleash the Power. All are united by a single product: A tasty blend of juice concentrate made from and marketed around the mangosteen fruit of Thailand. If you've never heard of the Lehi-based company or the supplement it makes, you're not alone. Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson hadn't until he was asked to welcome the crowd at Friday's opening session. "We just drove down to BYU law school and noticed XanGo's incredible presence at Thanksgiving Point," Anderson said. "It is a company that has just skyrocketed in just three years and along with that is a huge distributor network." XanGo (pronounced Zango) has more than 400,000 independent distributors worldwide and employs more than 500 workers in Utah.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The privately held company won't discuss its balance sheet, but Nutrition Business Journal ranked XanGo's U.S. sales No. 5 - ahead of NuSkin and behind veteran direct sales companies Avon, Alticor (formerly Amway), Mary Kay Cosmetics and HerbaLife. "We're right up there with the big boys," says spokesman Bob Freeze. That much is reflected in the spectacle of the two-day convention. Inside a convention center wrapped in XanGo orange, distributors are being treated to Bill Gates-style stage shows - the company has its own theme song - motivational videos, a huge store of XanGo swag, and a raffle for cash prizes, a XanGo Vespa and a 2006 Ford Mustang GT. Today, U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah - the author of dietary supplement legislation and a rock star in the health-food world - is expected to speak.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is Justin Banner's first XanGo convention. Before joining the company, Banner earned an MBA from Purdue University and worked at General Electric. "I'd go to their meetings and people don't clap, people don't get excited. . . . The momentum of this company is incredible." Adds Anderson: "They really crank the crowd up." This year, the company is launching an online store and taste-testing some new products - XanGo ice cream, a caffeine-free sports energy drink, a chocolate truffle and hard candies, all made in conjunction with Wild Flavors, the German-based company that works with the makers of Capri-Sun and SoBe. "These aren't two guys who mixed up some potion in their bathtub," said Freeze of founders Joe and Gordon Morton. But they are celebrities with the orange-clad crowd. "People come to convention to get recharged, and we see a huge jump in sales immediately after," Freeze said.
